| Harwood Timber Sdn Bhd (HTSB), a wholly owned subsidiary of Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation (STIDC) was incorporated on 3rd January 1985. Its principal business at that time was to buy and sell logs to the local market. On 24th January 1994, the Government of Sarawak appointed Harwood as the sole authorized agency for the purpose of purchasing, collection, sale and transmission of timber to local licensed sawmills in the state as per prescribed under Section 67A (5) of the Forest Ordinance of Sarawak.In August 1995, Harwoods role was administratively reviewed to "Log Endorsement" which involves inspecting and endorsing the distribution, movement and transportation of all logs under the Reservation Quota.
